Startup Questions, Answered. – #59
I’m still learning how to ask better questions in all areas of life. A few questions I’ve been asking startup entrepreneurs are the following:
- What is the website you use to find answers to any business question you have?
- Where is the place where you can find everything you need to start your business or startup?
A common answer I get is “ai…” however, the reality is that ai is just the starting point. Business builders need more than textual help. They need human help.
As I search for digital platforms and people to invest in, I’ve searched earnestly for an answer to these questions, a single source solution… I end up coming up with incomplete solutions:
- Kahn Academy
- Code Academy
- Coursera
- Udemy
- Skillshare
- Masterclass
All of these skill-up sites have their particular niche and market. However, all of these sites suffer from similar downsides:
- transactional product models – pay for access, get access, learn something, move on.
- variable quality – do any review of any of those sites and you’ll always find the same reviews: “some are useful, some are worthless. not everyone is good at teaching, etc.”
- short term value – very fleeting, very little stickiness to go farther.
- stale content – no consistent system of constant subject-matter-expertise uploads and notifications, things get stale.
While these systems fully take advantage of the current market sentiments, the known user expectations, and sub-optimal experiences from consumers… there has to be a better system for continual subject-matter-expertise covering all of the aspects of business building:
- community product model – pay for access, stay for help.
- consistent quality – all content is lessons/workshops with application-value and consistent delivery quality.
- long term value – get support on your journey of business building with others, not just transactions.
- fresh content – weekly webinars, quarterly speakers, coaching, and Mastermind cohorts.
The Learning Landscape is Evolving
I’ve covered the many results of my research into education platforms, for my own needs as well as investment opportunities in previous posts. Investing in digital education platforms not only makes sense, but those who are doing it better will win massive market share. Any simple diligence will show you 5 distinct facts in the learning marketplace:
- digital learning is growing
- digital conferences are growing
- digital communities are growing
- ai and tools are advancing, augmenting, and improving digital learning experiences
- most all learning products are still very much web2, it’s time for web3 activation!
