The Freedom 250 Grand Prix has come and gone.
On August 22–23, 2026 in Washington, DC, the first-ever NTT INDYCAR SERIES race to the National Mall marks a celebration of America’s 250 years of greatness as a country.
The build-up on social media was divided… and to the luddite, the lens of politics completely distracted from the (opportunity) of greatness. American greatness.
The World is Birthing Something New…
In this age of aquarius where traditional models are being dissolved by technology, decentralization, and humankind awakening… the echoes of this transition began decades go… for me, it’s been 30+ years in the making.
In 1992 my world was changed, when I witnessed Nigel Mansell, a regular dude from Britain win the Formula1 World Championship. His story was plastered all over motorsports news (no internet yet)… and the reports were all the same story:
Nearly two decades of injuries, debt, and near-misses, then one flawless year when the car finally matched the driver.
In 1992, Nigel Mansell became my hero. He proved that belief in oneself and no-quit can manifest miracles. And. In a Williams car…
In 2014, Liberty Media bought F1 and turned it into a grand-spectacle of Cirque du Soleil completely losing the essence of the everyday-man sport. Yes. Kim Kardashian is waving the flag, but we’ve lost the plot. (Get in there Lewis).
2016-2025 - Enduring racing growing globally. Karting growing by leaps and bounds. Secondary motorsports industries expanding. More media. More money in.
In 2026, the first Collegiate Racing Series, led by Jack Hobbs, emerged as a massive counter-balance to the ballooning costs of racing and celebrity optics. He answered the call, and now, the world has a true doorway to motorsports as a student.
Now, we have INDYCAR stretching it’s legs finally with the Freedom 250 in DC.
I hear whispers of NASCAR thinking similarly.
I (know) international racing series are planning creatively…
The Motor[sports] Inflection Point is Here
Blessed we are to be participatory in the greatest expansion of the greatest sport on earth: RACING MACHINES.
And I haven’t even extended this yet to NIL and (all other) high school and college sports…
Sports, globally, is in it’s expansion phase.
Did you notice that politics wasn’t even brought up?
Exactly.
Grab ahold of something. You won’t want to miss out.
All the best,
ps
