Today, IMSA - International Motor Sports Association and the Collegiate Racing Series(CRS) announced the joint establishment of the National Advisory Board of Motorsports Education (NABME).
This is a major moment for CRS, but more importantly, it’s a major step forward for collegiate motorsports.
When we started building CRS, the goal was never just to create a place for college students to race cars. We wanted to build a real pathway into the motorsports industry, connecting what students learn in school with the people, teams, organizations, and opportunities that make this industry run.
This is no longer a college lab experiment or student project.
We are bringing students directly into the professional motorsports industry while they are still in school.
Through NABME, CRS and IMSA are bringing together leaders from across motorsports and higher education to help shape curriculum, expand hands-on learning, identify workforce needs, and create stronger pathways into professional motorsports.
And those pathways are already becoming real.
As part of the initiative, IMSA will provide internship opportunities in engineering and partnership marketing for qualified students, with the inaugural recipients set to be announced at IMSA’s State of the Sport presentation ahead of Motul Petit Le Mans.
More than 80 colleges and universities are now participating across the CRS program. Students aren't waiting until graduation to figure out how to enter motorsports. They're building and operating race programs, competing at real racetracks, meeting industry leaders, and gaining experience that can lead directly into their careers.
We are closing the distance between the classroom and the racetrack... between being a student and becoming a motorsports professional.

This is bigger than racing.
We are building the pipeline for the next generation of the motorsports industry.
And we're just getting started.
