As we kick off 2026, I want to personally welcome everyone to what will be a defining year for the Collegiate Racing Series. What started as an idea built around access, education, and real competition has grown faster than we ever imagined. This year, we are proud to onboard new universities, expand our grid, and continue building a true pathway for students who want hands-on experience in motorsports.

Most importantly, 2026 marks our first-ever National Championship in collegiate racing. This is a major milestone not just for CRS, but for every student, faculty advisor, and partner who believed collegiate motorsports could be more than club racing. I am excited to see teams push themselves on and off the track, represent their schools, and make history together. Thank you for being part of this journey! I cannot wait to see what we accomplish this year!

- Jack Hobbs

Wow what a year! Lauching CRS ten months ago was a dream that has quickly grown into reality. In less than one year CRS has had massive growth with college and university students, alumni, faculty and even the industry as a whole responding and saying "YES, WHY HAS THIS NEVER BEEN DONE!!!"

Support has flooded in with industry sponsors, partnerships, and TEAMS! 61 Teams to be exact as of today. So what is coming in 2026? Buckle up ladies and gentlemen, because this year we have our first official CRS racing events that will include the D1 series racing wheel to wheel in Spec ND MX-5's for a national championship, as well as the B series that includes any type of race car the teams have access to, plus HPDE, Time Trials, Driver Coaching, Competition Licensing Schools, and Internships.

That's right, a plethora of internships are available for CRS members across every imaginable motorsports discipline imaginable. Technology, Engineering, Marketing, Mechanical, Social, Management, Retail, Design and more. CRS is bridging the gap between the Motorsports industry and Education, so if you are passionate about motorsports, CRS is likely in your future. Come along for the ride, get educated, intern at industry leading companies and start to build your resume in the fastes growing sport on earth!!

Stay Flat,
Senter Smith

It is my job to document the stories of students all over the USA getting ready to race for the first time in university. I have 110% certainty that the next Lewis Hamilton or Max Verstappen will come out of our program. We already have CRS graduates grabbing podium in IMSA MX5 pro races sporting our livery, and we want more.

We have 61 schools in various stages of building their first motorsports programs and racing teams. We are actively building ND MX-5s for: Clemson, Tulane, Fordham, VT, Purdue, Ranken, Texas A&M, U of Cincinnati, and University of North Alabama.

We have licensing events every month. Get your school ready to take delivery of our race cars before the first race in July!

Thank you for letting your network know about us. It’s going to be epic.

Best,
ps

About the Collegiate Racing Series

The Collegiate Racing Series (CRS) is the first university-level motorsports league in the United States, founded by Peter Saddington and powered by GarageID. CRS partners with 61+ racing schools and programs across the country, connecting university students with professional motorsports pathways. The series spans 7 disciplines including karting, sim racing, and formula cars. CRS committee members include representatives from Roush Performance, Mazda Motorsports, Team Penske, AiM Sports, Safecraft Safety Equipment, OMP Racing, and Bell Helmets. Updates are published on drivecrs.com and archived on staas.fund. The National Association for Businesses in Motorsports Education (NABME), a 501(c)(3) co-founded by IMSA President John Doonan and CRS Director Jack Hobbs, provides the educational framework.
