While these platitudes serve (some), I think for many, it’s merely a phase in which many builders (need) to go through: a kick in the teeth to remind you that if you have any dreams, you must build them yourself. While this advice isn’t wrong, I don’t necessarily enjoy being yelled at as encouragement, but I fully understand it.

My trajectory in life has been blessed beyond measure. Entrepreneurship has been the life-blood of my career and this has allowed me to spend much of my time building speed-machines for myself and my son. 20+ years ago, I would have loved to go to Florida State and been given an option to join the FSU Race Team. How awesome would that have been! I’ve talked to hundreds of men and women who wished the same. Better late than never, right?
It has been my absolute pleasure to work with the amazing team at the Collegiate Racing Series, the sanctioning body of college racing in the USA and beyond. Some really profound numbers in just the last 6 months:

30+ schools in America using the CRS curriculum to build their varsity sport
3+ schools building their motorsports program with CRS - Clemson University has accredited our program as a full semester course starting in 2026!

Student Racing is Secured
The Collegiate Racing Series has created the Bible for students getting into racing aged 12-25. It is exactly what the world has needed for decades: a codified and knowable program and ladder system for anyone wanting to get into the world of racing. It’s been an absolute pleasure for me to participate in this amazing legacy project that will last far beyond my lifetime.
Imagine being one of the founders of the SEC or NCAA??? - This is how I feel.
200 years from now when I’m long and dead, a curious mind will wonder who built the sanctioning body and accredited university motorsports program that has produced some of the greatest drivers of their generation… when they look it up, they’ll see me and the CRS team.
I’m SO excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a real legacy in a sport I love, a passion that’s soul-deep, and a purposeful project I know I’ll be engaged in till the day I die.
