AI Music is Now 90% of My Playlist - #101

For my tastes, AI hits the spot

I was hit with a realization this past evening that the entire day I only listened to music purely generated by AI: beat, lyrics, and voice. All created by AI.

You see, my favorite type of music that I can work, play, drive, or chill to is electronica. In the best examples, it’s closer to vocal trance, usually having a female vocal over a very melodic beat that rises and falls. My favorite IRL artists are from the 90s and I’m a huge fan of 80s electronic music.

AI can fully generate this amalgam of tastes, infinitely. Over the last couple of years I’ve downloaded about 314 fully AI electronica songs. This how now become statistically 90% of my full playlist of music that I own.

Take a listen to an example of a fully AI generated song with some irony baked into the lyrics:

The reality is that my taste in music allows for ‘just enough’ generic requirements to allow AI to create a rendition that is perfect for me. I’d figure that there are plenty who can appreciate it too.

With AI becoming mainstream, it is clear we’re in for a world of hurt.

Maybe assimilation is the only solution…

Best,
ps
