I can now die.
Not to be hyperbolic, but truly, I can now leave this planet as a very content man.
The Quest Log I had curated for myself in life has been fully checked off… the only questions left are: “how epic will it be?…how will it end?”
6 Years Ago the Fire Began
When we began my son’s journey into racing, we knew from Day 1 that the goal was always cars. Karting was merely a gateway system, a perfunctory program necessary for honing in the key skills, behaviors, experiences, and learning about the lifestyle of someone dedicated to the craft of speed.
Little did I know how fast the time would truly fly.
And now, we’ve done it.

6 Years of Karting to Grow Racecraft
Y’all know I love the numbas. So let’s run it:
6 years of karting, 5 full seasons, started in 2019.
Average 17 races per season, high 27 (crazy), low 14 (1 club full season + national race).
Total races run in 6 years of karting ~114 (I’m sure I missed one or two).
I wish I could have a complete data set of average positions gained, average qualifying position starting, etc… but the fractured nature of various racing series prohibits quality data and data sharing (this is why I invested in GARAGE iD that combines all racing series)! Here’s some best guesses:
Average quali position over ~114 races - P7
Average finishing position over ~114 races - P5
DNFs (did not finish due to wreck or mechanical) ~18! - wow, this was intriguing to calculate. DNS (did not start) is ~4 due to (me) not getting something working in time…
One 1st in Championship in 2021. One 2nd in Championship 2020. One 3rd in Championship in 2023. 2024 was our hardest DNF and DNS year of learning as we moved from Micro to Mini 2-stroke. Brutal National level competition!
Infinite amounts of joy and pain.
We took karting for what it was: a stepping stone to car racing.
My son kept his end of the deal and so did I:
I provide every opportunity to drive a performant machine with access to great coaching and support.
He shows up in his office and puts in the work to learn the machine, learn to communicate feedback, and learn to network himself to other great humans in racing.
We Are a Great Team - Father & Son
In all candor, we did one-hellava job. The data, evidence, and proof is in the product and output. My driver put in the work as I provided the opportunities.
From all of his hard work, my driver has achieved his Pro Card to race cars and in doing so, given his old man the opportunity to support his dream to drive.
Inputs. Outputs.
Dedication. Determination. No-quit.
Goal-minded. Incremental and iterative.
It has taken me over a week to fully come down from the cloud-9 that I’ve been on. I simple cannot believe we did it. It’s truly amazing and outstanding! We’ve passed through the veil into real professional sports car racing. Our first seasons in Pro Spec Miata will be foundational growth and racecraft. Now that we’ve been initiated, we merely need to exact the same plan we did in karting:
I provide opportunities - Watch the 8min VLOG on building the Bitcoin Race car.
My driver shows up to work - Watch the 6min comp school docuseries.
Now, we are merely an introduction away from driving even bigger and faster cars.
Merely an introduction away.
All the best,
ps
